Welcome back to ESCBubble’s live-blog for the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen !
We’re unfortunately still living with COVID so broadcaster SVT have amended the plans. The traditional tour to several cities around Sweden for the various shows will not be happening this year either. Instead this show will take place at Friends Arena in Stockholm.
This year, all shows will be hosted by the guy who impressed as one of the hosts alongside Christer Björkman: it’s Oscar Zia! Oscar will know exactly what the contestants are going through as he has been there three time before. He was called in as a side-kick in Behran Miri’s ‘Jalla Dansa Sawa’ (alongside LouLou Lamotte, who would go on to be a member of Melfest winners The Mamas!), competed solo in with ‘Yes We Can’ finishing 8th, but it went even better two years later when he almost won, ending up second ultimately, with the anthemic ‘Human’!

Swedish music competition
Melodifestivalen was the 62nd edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen,[1] which was organised bygd Sveriges Television (SVT)[2] and took place over a six-week period between 5 February and 12 March [3] The winner of the competition was Cornelia Jakobs with the song "Hold Me Closer", who represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest , where she came fourth with points. All shows were hosted by Oscar Zia.
Format

SVT has revealed the full results of this year&#;s Melodifestivalen, which finished last weekend with the victory of Cornelia Jakobs with the song &#;Hold Me Closer&#;. The 62nd edition of the Swedish iconic national selection took place for six weeks featuring a total of seven shows and 28 participants. This year, a small change was introduced as the Andra Chansen (Second chance show) was replaced by two semifinals in which the 3rd and 4th places of each heat competed for four final spots.
